If you’re looking for a hand-made, unique and modern design style… this is the iPad2 stand for you. The viewing angle is adjustable, landscape or portrait. The design allows for easy access for your USB connector most audio jacks. It has aluminum rods that slide through the frame to overlay the edges of the iPad2. C-clips lock the rods in place to prevent easy removal from the stand. This stand comes standard with a stainless cap nut and washer to attach the aluminum bracket. We’ve upgraded the wood from Euro Birch plywood to a higher quality Apple plywood.

The aluminum bracket can simply sit on any surface or can be mounted to a wall or table top**.

This iPad stand has the same modern design style as our standard iPad stand, but with the addition of aluminum rods that slide through the frame to overlay the edges of the iPad (and c-clips lock the rods in place to further prevent easy removal from the stand). Modgrain just completed a custom iPad Pedestal for LOUD Technologies Inc. They are using it at the NAMM conference – in Anaheim, CA. Below are a few photos of the finished piece. The pedestal features 4 iPad stands, a black base, and a natural maple top. In a previous post you can see some of the production photos.

Modgrain recently shipped a iPad stand to to Woodinville, WA. The buyer (LOUD Technologies Inc.) loved it so much that they contacted me about doing a custom piece…. and ultimately commissioned Modgrain to create and build a custom iPad Pedestal for their upcoming tradeshow NAMM – in Anaheim, CA.

Thanks to the good people at LOUDtech (they are very nice), It was a very efficient and simple process. A few emails, a couple discussions a a preliminary estimate and a quick design, including 3D drawings and animation (see below). Also, below are some of the process photos so far. I’ll update them as the project progresses.

This is the first project that I have been challenged with creating a “ebony” like finish (not included in this 3D animation). And, I’m happy to say that after 3 coats of water based black die mixed with India Ink and 2 coats (so far…. a couple more to come) of a ECO friendly satin topcoat, that it’s looking really nice. I can’t wait to mount the top and 4 custom, secure iPad stands. It’s going to be sweet!
