I am a graduate of the University of Utah and have worked professionally as a graphic designer in New York City and Seattle for over 17 years. Prior to this, I worked several years in a wood shop building European pine furniture. Since then and through my professional career as a graphic designer, I have refined and evolved my woodworking skills and specialize mainly in modern furniture design styles.
My design and brand development background is the foundation for my working style. I understand the design and production process as well as the importance of building and maintaining strong client relationships. My experience at problem solving along with knowledge of materials, building techniques, and eye for detail enable me to create unique furniture designs. I am influenced by and often integrate elements from illustration, photography, typography and graphic design to my design and typically work with veneered plywood (walnut, maple, mahogany, bamboo, birch) as well as other materials such as aluminum, acrylic and canvas.
